Our Team

Riaan van der Walt 

Obtained a Master’s degree in Nature Conservation (cum laude) degree from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT). He has 28 years of experience in conservation planning and management. He is also registered as a professional natural scientist with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP). He has expertise and is experienced in all fascists of conservation in the Western Cape. He has in depth knowledge of the biodiversity of the Cape Floristic Region with special emphasis on the flora and freshwater fish. Riaan has presented at two international conferences and are the author and co-author of various research papers. He is experienced in working with GIS programmes ArcGIS and database programme MS Access.

Arnold Arendse

Has fifteen years’ experience in the control of management of invasive aliens. He has worked on a variety of contracts that include the West Coast Wetlands project where he was responsible for clearing of alien vegetation and the construction of rehabilitation structures and alien fish barriers.
